The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson:I find that I keep picking books for assignments that I'm doing for my English class. Originally I had grabbed a different book and hated it so much that I had to change my book. I saw this book on the shelf and I knew that I had to read it. I had heard so many good things about this book and it 100% lived up to my expectations. This book is set in Sweden and my only complaint is that some of the words were a little bit hard to pronounce. Other than that though, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Some of the parts can be quite gruesome, but they fit into the story very well. I felt like the gruesome/ inappropriate parts weren't just there to be there. they served a purpose. So if that's the only reason that you're not reading this book I would highly suggest picking up a copy and reading it. As I said before, great book. I was very impressed, and it lived up to all of my expectations.

Anthem by Ayn Rand

Anthem by Ayn Rand, was yet another book that I had to read for school. I honestly thought that I was going to hate this book, but surprisingly it was pretty good. This book is set up in a communist society. The whole book is centered around Equality 7-2521. The book is from his point of view. Since he was little he had always felt like he had been missing something. He was different than most of the others and many people didn't like it. He was always guilty for the transgression of preference because in this society everything is supposed to be equal. The plot was a solid plot, and while you can see some of the big reveals for lack of a better word coming, many of them are unexpected. I think that just that fact alone was enough to make me like the book. Like I said it was a good book. It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but it also wasn't the worst book I've ever read. Overall it was a good book and I really enjoyed it.
